that setup looks incredible. I was planning on getting the AVIC-N1 after i pick up my tC but this looks like a much better option. i just can't seem to find this unit anywhere other than eBay. anyone know where else i can find it in the NY/NJ area?

Default Does the Eclipse come without the DVD?

I want to get a nav unit, but don't really care for the DVD. Is there something similar that only has nav, cd and mp3 and looks as clean as the avn2454.

Most aftermarket NAV systems nowadays use DVDs so that all of the map data can fit on one disc, so... probably not. I can't think of many headunits with LCDs that don't have built-in DVD, unless you go really low-end and don't opt for touchscreen. I don't recommend GPS navigation without a touchscreen though.

The only option I can think of right now is the Camry navigation system, but that has no MP3 compatibility. It might change in the future though.

Hmmm... the Kenwood DDX7015. But NAV is still on DVD-ROMs.

And you'll still have a DVD player, I want everything... if your paying for it already its good to have, why limit yourself?

thought it might be significantly cheaper.. probably not though because the screen is probably the most expensive part.

i've never had an lcd in my car so i wonder about something. does the screen get messed up when it gets cold? i've noticed that my radar detector screen and my cell phone can get lethargic if its been out in the cold weather.

I have the nav package Kenwood pnav-815. The screen is really dim for about 30 seconds to a minute and then it is normal. Every electronic thing is affected in some way by the cold but it doesn't hurt it. The temp was about 10-15 degrees when this happened.

What is the difference is redriliing the bracket with 1/4th inch holes and drilling new holes as this guy did:

the eclipse looks like a plug and play type except for the speed, reverse and brake. i wonder how they did the speed, reverse, and brake portion for the navigation

Default Are the speedsense and reverse wires labeled.

Just got my eclipse and want to install. Wondering, if anyone knows when you tap the orange wire on pin 14 on the AC control plug (Speed Sense) and tab the pink wire on pin for reverse, if those wires are labeled on the tC or not.
