What kind of door speakers can I get for my 2009 xB?
This was previously posted in the 1st generation forum. I was told to repost the message in this forum.
Hi,
I'm lookgin to change the sound system in my car, starting with the speaker system. According to Scion support, the following setup is currently in my car:
2009 Scion xB factory speaker settings
Two 1.0" tweeters,
Two 6.3" full range (front)
Two 5.5" full range (back)
I want to get it replaced with:
(Front and tweeters)
Alpine SPR-17S (110 Watts RMS)
Woofer Mounting Depth: 2.3125"
Woofer Mounting Diameter: 5.34375"
Woofer Diameter: 6.5"
Tweeter Mounting Depth: 0.75"
Tweeter Diameter: 2"
(Rear)
Alpine SPR-17C (100 Watts RMS)
Woofer Mounting Depth: 2.5"
Woofer Mounting Diameter: 5.3125"
Woofer Diameter: 6.5"
Therefore I'm unsure if these speakers will work with my car. I don't know that much yet about car audio installations in terms of forcing in a speaker, cutting the mounting area, etc, but if anyone can confirm these speakers or recommend a similar set that will work, I will greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
DJ

The tweeters have a 4 pin connector, and if you take it out, you lose sound in your door speaker. You'll need to short 2 of the wires in order for the signal to go through to the door speaker.
In terms of the size of the front and rear speakers, they wil work fine, just be ready to drill holes for them because new cars are cheap and use rivets instead of bolts to hold factory speakers in.
