I just started noticing this strange sound coming from the rear of my car. Ever since I installed a set of tanabe springs, It seems like the cargo cover is making this strange squeeking sound every time I go across rough roads.
Has anyone else experienced this after they installed their springs? what about before?

if u think it's the cargo cover than it is rattling cuz of slightly stiffer springs. if it's from the cargo area then it may be that the springs are missing the upper or lower spring seat. and are chattering.
If you want, you can drive down to the Scion Central in Milpitas and I will inspect it for you to see whats going. I will be in on monday from 8am-1pm. You can take 880 south to where I am at.

Also check to see if the rubber gaskets are seated properly between the spring and spring perch. They tend to shift depending on road conditions and speed.
The springs sits fine on the rubber gaskets, it's the cargo cover making the odd sounds..
I just took out the cargo cover and the sound goes away :\ Maybe it's the springs settling in? I've only had it for around 3 weeks.

I had that during the first two days, then it went away. If it's still happening, you can put the plastic spring sleeves (the springs come with it) on the rear set and the sound will deaden out.
