i have this K&N CARB exempt intake. bought it since I live in CA and the cops are butts about intake & exhaust. not as loud as CAI. Same net result... no real power gain.

^ yea but you cant really feel 5-10whp anyway - took me 40whp to even feel anything ...but thats just me. I would think that most things other then the stock airbox would be better anyway- Does it sound cool atleast? hehe. I already blew my engine due to speed so now im all about kickin back and enjoying my car now ...

I have the same K&N also and love it, I could have found it a little cheaper on ebay, but I wanted a valid warranty so I got it at here. K&N 69-8608TFK, or you can try one of the vendors on the forum here, you can usually find a good deal that way as well. This was very easy to install and I love it.

Is this for real? You sign up today... bump a year old thread... post one thing about an intake that apparently very few have... link to some obscure/shady store... and that's it?

Hey, I know this is an old thread, but its better than making new useless ones right?

Anyway this intake appears to be stated at 05-06. But why does it matter since the MAF mount location is on the upper portion of the stock air box and this intake retains that part. I think this intake just includes the new piping and the lower portion you see in the pic. So why should it matter if its an 07+? The MAF will still mount. I contact K&N to ask and they said its just not "tuned" for the 07+. What do you guys think?

^ sounds like they didnt test with the 07 so they cant legally say it will work. There is no "tuning" hehe

That's EXACTLY what I'm thinking. Also since it's stated as a 05-06, CARB is probably only approved for the 05-06 meaning K&N probably can't say its for 07+ as well since CARB numbers would be different.

But besides them saying whatever works legally and CARB etc.. Lets think in functionality terms, it should work on the 07+ no problem huh? If the MAF mounts, then there shouldn't be a difference in functionality if installed between the two vehicles right?

EDIT: And yeah, I'm asking this because I have an 07 as well, and just wondering what you guys thought about putting this into the 07. I don't think shops wouldn't even notice that its aftermarket, so they probably wouldn't ask for the CARB number. So CARB isn't my main concern right now, just wondering if I'm forgetting something about whether this will work on the 07 or not.

^ i was gonna get one of these back a while ago and i was shocked that there is a product that people dont have ....this is the product. I guess people buy intakes to look pretty and thats why this didnt sell. Like you are saying, i would think people would have bought it because it looks stock (closer anyway). Also because the k&n ram air one snaps the bracket (or i was 3-4years ago) ....so the only other k&n was this. Maybe since its its an import car people arent looking at k&n .... but once again i just find it funny cause 4-5years ago there were truck loads of people with every part out

Yeah I hear ya. But as time went by, I kind of went onto the same boat as you. The flashy things aren't as appealing. I want something reliable and built with quality so I can just have fun with the car. I tried other intakes and they felt like the power had spikes or it was just moved around at different RPMs. Plus this looks stock-ish which is what I want, living in CA, I just want to be CARB legal now as well. But yeah this actually looks like a great design, it gives you a new pipe so you don't have that useless resonating chamber.

So you don't personally have this intake yet jwagg? Do you think this should function perfectly fine in the 07+? I mean its the same engine basically, just different MAF. For example I don't think Injen "tuned" their 05-06 and 07+ intake any different, they just made the MAF mount a different size.

i dont know much about the 07 but if the maf screws are in the same spot for the 05 then yea ...its the same thing. Ive talked with people about the ecu etc etc and there were very small changes - nothing you care about in your situation. Im sure you either know or can lookup if the screws are in the same spot and the maf looks the same ....then get it. I have a turbo kit sitting in two boxes waiting to go in - but i was thinking about doing the intake since i had a header and exhaust - now i just have a 2.5" exhaust and stock header since i took the other header out. In general driving is nice w/ a intake/header/exhaust - its not making your car that much quicker but i like the way it shifts..... just seems cleaner. if i didnt have the lsd/clutch/flywheel i would have traded the car in for a new tC or something but i guess ill keep the car and get another at some point ...i just dont feel like spending the money

the maf on the 07 up are different, they are smaller so they will not fit the intake without an adapter plate.
