Does my xB have Keyless entry ?
Hey there, I bought '06 xB over a year ago here in Canada and only thing I got was a copy of original key. I never questioned if xB comes with keyless entry cuz I thought they'r just made cheap.
But I saw a thread from few months ago and I saw someone lost their keyless remote and he got refered to this:
http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trk...All-Categories
and then this:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16563
So, now I'm thinking, does my xB has it ? If I purchase this and follow that tread will I get it to work ? Sucks being on this side of the border because there's only a handfull of us here and I never met anyone with an xB yet.

you will need to get new remotes and program them

Does my xB have keyless entry? okay...can you lock and unlock the doors without your key? if yes, then you have keyless entry, if no, then you do not have keyless entry.
Stock First Gen xB's and xA's only have power locks, the keyless entry is an optional extra that you get with Scion Security, or pretty much any other security system these days that can remotely lock and unlock power locks.

okay...let me explain this to you. if you were to go back in time, and buy a brand new 2006 Scion xA/xB from a Toyota dealership, completely stock, it would come with nothing but a set of two keys. not even a key chain.
now, if you order Scion Security with it, the security system comes with two little remotes that have lock/unlock and panic buttons on them. once installed he programed, they will remotely lock and unlock the doors.
now, another easy way to see if you have keyless entry is to check if you have a small little rectangle on the dashboard left of the steering wheel that says "Security" and a blinking red led, then your xB has Scion Security, and that means that somewhere is a pair of remote controls that can lock and unlock your doors and set off your alarm.
Does this answer your question?

I have to assume thats what you're asking for. I don't know first hand though.

if you look at the list of standard features on the tC, it says remote power door locks, and also says multi-function remote, referring to the remote keyless entry feature.

have you tried?
if it works I would assume you have keyless entry
Confirmation mode. To check for the number of remotes programmed into the car:
Start with the key out of the car, driver's door open and unlocked.
1.Insert key in ignition and pull out
2. Within 5 seconds, insert the key in the ignition and pull out again.
3. Within 40 seconds, close and open the driver's door twice, then insert and remove the key from the ignition again.
4. Within 40 more seconds, close and open the driver's door twice, then insert the key in the ignition and close the driver's door.
5. Turn ignition switch from LOCK to ON to OFF three times, leaving the key on for one second and off for one second each time.
6. Remove the key from the ignition lock.
The doors will lock and unlock themselves at about 2 second intervals. The number of times that the doors lock is the number of remotes that are programmed into the car. If the car locks/unlocks 5 times, there are no codes registered.

All first gen xb's come stock with keyless entry. It was optional on the xA.
EVERY 2006 Scion xB sold came with keyless entry and TWO remotes to unlock ALL of your doors, front / rear and hatch included. No "security" package needed.
Here is a photo of my 2006 xB remote. Notice that is does not have any "panic" or "security" buttons on it. Only "Lock" and "Unlock".

draxcaliber, please stay in the tC forum if you are going to talk about stuff in which you have no clue.

Toyo, glad you got it sorted out. I actually need to order me another remote. When I bought mine it only came with one.

CORRECTED COPY!!! Sorry for initial post error.
Folks, here is the final word on this, and any of the rest is the purest of fertilizer, suitable for enriching gardens and such...
All Scion xB vehicles for model years 2004-06 had remote keyless entry.
The very early models came with only one remote standard, but a dealer notice was sent out and those early purchasers who only received one electronic keychain remote were eligible to get a second, free of charge.
After those very early sales, all xBs, model years 2004 through 2006.5 came with two electronic remotes.
(For those who purchased the optional, add-on Toyota VIP security system, the STOCK remotes provided with the initial purchase of the vehicles also controlled the dealer installed, factory approved security system.
The radio receiver and door latch/lock control logic are installed on every 2004-2006 xB sold, and both live just under the speedo, in the dash. See the service manuals for details - link in my signature.
The correction is that xA's did NOT come stock with keyless entry. My error. For the xA, keyless was an optional entry that came with the security system. Sorry for the error in the initial post. Mea Culpa.
Hope that helps.
Tom
