Key and FOB replacement?

Key and FOB replacement?
I have a 2006 xB that came with one single key. I have had to have other vehicle keys laser cut, programmed, etc.
With that said I would like to find out what is required with Scion so I can get a spare key.
Is it as easy as going to the hardware store and having a basic key cut?
It did not come with a FOB. How can I find out if it was equipped with keyless entry?
Thanks for reading.

Hi Wrencher, we would be happy to check if your Scion xB was equipped with keyless entry. You may contact the Scion Customer Experience Center at 866-707-2466 (Monday through Friday 5 AM – 6 PM PST, Saturday 7 AM – 4 PM). Any representative you reach would be happy to assist you with this. Additionally, you may visit a Scion dealer to inquire about getting an extra key. Thanks! ^LL

Keyless equipped
Thanks Lidia. I called the number and was told the vehicle is equipped with "remote keyless entry."
I read in another thread that the keyless control box is located behind the glove box wrapped in foam. I did not see this or any other box. Can anyone describe the location where I need to look?

I realize this is an old post, but I hope you know by now the door lock control unit sits below the speedometer. It's not so easy to get to and is very expensive. However, additional remotes (easily found one eBay) can be programmed without the help of a dealer. I take it you have figured it all out by now. The car should have come with two remotes and at least 2 keys.
