Default how to keep orig h/u and add dvd player w/aux sound??

HOw can I keep the Original head unit and add a dvd player with flip out monitor to the Oven and use the AUX input for sound?

I already have the ipod stock h/u

I'm also curious how the sound will be with the aux hooked up for sound on the dvd?

thanks

Okay I did a search and nothing, but i found this post so i'm going to save a post by posting here.

I want to install a dvd player and keep my stock HU. Some people just say why not swap out the stock HU with the dvd player. But I'm just going to use the dvd player strickly for dvd use only. I take long road trip seasonally so i want a dvd player. I just plan to use the audio from the AUX, its ghetto i know but its nothing i'm going to use often.

With that being said i want to purchase this unit and put it in the oven

My question is, how do i install it being that the stock HU is occupied with the stock harness. I know how to do most electrical stuff. Where do i draw power from fusebox battery? Will the HU power on if i don't occupy the audio plugs. Is this possible to do?

Thanks in advance

This is the easiest, cleanest way...whats wrong with this method?

Also, if you are skilled in electronics, you would know to use a DMM and find your constant and switched sources from the fuse box.

You can mount the DVD in the oven, but why? Just use the stock DIN mounts and a trim kit to put it in the stock location.

Yeah I know its the cleanest method, but i just want to hide the DVD player in the oven for security reason.

Will i be able to power the unit with just ground/ACC/12v/parking ground ?
