Does going around a corner fast enough to tip up on 2 wheels and peel the tires off the rims count as a weird way to get a flat or just a stupid way to drive? I did that when I was 19 with my Volkswagen Scirocco...

Thats rolling the tire off the bead cause they were baloons with probably like a 70 sidewall, haha

I don't think i've ever gotten a flat in my life now that I think about it.

Now today after saying that i'm probably going to get a flat. DOH

It was much more talented than that. This was a race car I bought from the driver when he upgraded his ride, had roll bars, racing seats and racing wheels/tires. They were extra wide, I just know I ended up having to replace two due to this and Goodyear had to special order them from the factory, yes the side wall was still higher than todays low profiles by far, but this wasn't on anything near a stock wheel. Don't ask how fast I was going...

#1) I have a tail silencer that I take out for shows and display sitting on the ground under the exhaust tip. I forgot about it and went to back up to leave the show, the narrower tube part ended up cutting a gash in the sidewall :(

#2) When I was in college, I was parking at student apartments and ran over the metal cone tip that's on some ballpoint pens. Worse than just puncturing the tire, the cone was hollow and didn't collapse, so it was like sticking a metal drinking straw right in the tire. I could hear the air rushing out and was completely flat in about 10 seconds.

The tire places I've gone to actually keep a can / jar of stuff they've pulled out of tires. Some of it is pretty interesting.

not weird but annoying, Middle of winter in NY, I drop my gf at home, come back to my house and I hear ssssssssssssssssssssss. -.- Had to change my wheel at mid-night in the middle of winter while it was at most 10 degrees outside.

I curbed my car on an incline one time, went back out and apparently when I was parking it i scraped the sidewall and killed it.

Only weird flat I've had was having a rattlesnake strike the sidewall,
and the kid doing the repair got his finger cut by the fang... had to get the medics to give him the anti-venom.. just in case.......!

First one on the left rear was a rather long nail, the second one on the right rear was a new 3 inch long 1/4 inch bolt and the 8 sided washer attached to it painted white used in the construction of steel buildings. It made the darnest clicking noise because the washer kept it from going into the tire enough to wear smooth. It actually broke some of the very fine steel cords inside the tire. Needless to say I don't rotate the tires since both rears have patches on them.

Two weird flats:

Left a movie theatre at 2am and as I left the lot, felt the tire go flat. Got out the flash light and got ready to put the spare on, when I noticed what was sticking OUT of my tire - one of those minature wrenches - the kind you get in souviner packages from Vegas. Right next to a trailer park, so that MIGHT explain it.

The other was a brick left in a pot hole *just* outside a curb. I didn't see it as I was leaving a gas station driveway. That one sucked because I ripped some back muscles getting the spare out of the trunk (I'm a small girl and that was a fairly unwieldly trunk), and had to be in rehab and on painkillers for 3 months.
