So I installed my kit over the weekend. Runs pretty good except for after boosting, when coming to a stop (like at a light), the car's RPMs go really low and sometimes stalls (but this is only when stopped whether in neutral or in 1st gear). I read up on adjusting my Greddy Type S bov and tried various adjustments for the spring throughout the night last night but the issue is still there. I'm pretty sure it's the bov b/c the stalling issue would get worse after some adjustment, like if I revved up to 3000 RPMs, it would stall after. I was thinking about capping off the lower nipple to see if that solves the problem b/c right now it's venting to the atmosphere. What would be good to cap that off? I don't want to put on a rubber cap and have it melt off lol

 

it will do this you just meetered a bunch of air then never let it hit the combo chamber so it dumps gas causing a rich condition and bad idle either recirc it or deal pretty much

 

i had same issue. ptuning fixed it. you just need a good tune

 

Dave, did they lean it out? If they did how much and at what rpms/vacuum pressure on the map?

Mine used to get rich and dip down real low. If I tried to go from 3000+ rpm to idle, it would stall sometimes. The BOV needs to be tightened and you're going to need tuning. If you're going to PTuning for your tune, Toan should adjust the BOV.

 

Ok good to know. I would've gone crazy trying to adjust the bov trying to get it right! lol I got a rubber cap at an auto parts store during lunch but the issue is still there. I'm hopefully getting an AEM F/IC next week, so I will be able to tune after. Until then, I will deal with it. I'm glad it's not compressor surge from the bov that is making me stall.

Something else though, I didn't see a dip in the road and may have bottomed out. A few minutes later I noticed my afr was reading a steady 14.7. Crap. I may have messed up my wideband sensor. I will get a better look at it after work when I get home. I hope I didn't mess that sensor up, cause it's $80 for another one.

 

It's just that the MAF isn't used to seeing the dump to atmosphere. I got used to it and would just lightly blip the throttle when I was slowing down. Now that Toan adjusted it and tuned it, I can go straight to neutral from any RPM and it will find idle right away lol.

 

what i did to fix the stalling issue was put my MAF in between my BOV and throttle body...no more stalling for me

 

instead of letting it vent to atmosphere, let it recirculate, the air lost will be added to the air in the next run and balance itself out like that

 

aen even when id id recirc my bov i found i would still stall...now i have the blow thru maf and let my bov vent to atmosphere
