so like some of you on here, my dealer decided to install my front plate before actually buying the car so i had no option. it has left some nasty holes and i want to get a bluebat front overlay, but i want the surface to be as smooth as possible. any suggestions other than getting a new front bumper or sanding/bondo-ing the thing?

 

I was going to suggest some bumper plugs, but if you're looking for a flush fit, that wouldn't really work.

 

worst comes to worst i could do that. maybe paint them flat black like to over lay. i just dont want to have holes there...who makes plugs?

 

Only way to really make them go away is to fill them with proper filler. DO NOT use bondo!! Use only 2 part plastic repair filler made for this purpose. Such filler will actually stay in the holes without cracking out like regular body filler will. Be sure to grind away a bit of the surface around the holes so that the repair compund can be sanded flat without exposing the edge of the holes in the bumper, a little primer, and some paint or other covering and your in business.

 

I screwed in two chrome spikes to fill in my holes.

i had that same question..so thanks for the knowledge..dont do the plugs because they'll cause a bubble onto your overlay.

 

The best place to get spikes is at truck stops. I think I got mine at a Pilot. Also at there is a store in the mall that sells like punk clothing but I can't remember the name of it.
