I think it depends on the set of springs you get. With H&R springs, its ok to go with stock struts with the Sport springs but they highly recommend replacing the struts with their Race springs.

YES YOU DO...

OF COURSE YOU DO.

for the reason being of stiffer springs need stiffer shocks to hold the bound and rebound that is produced by the springs.

but you can ride with stock but they will wear down very quickly and the stock shocks will never be as there were with stock springs o n them.

the only aftermarket shocks out there right now are TRD shocks. they work welll but giv it about 6 months so development of aftermarket shocks will be relased

wrong
most springs don't need shocks unless you are getting something real agressive which 99% wont get
so no you don't need shocks but it will help handling and destroy ride

it also has something to do with how much lower the springs will be...

it the drop is on the extreme side the struts will be operating out of their designed range and might bottom out.

:blah: that's what's going on up there.
yes you/no you don't/yes you do

here it is bro. no.
no you don't have to get both. the stock suspension works fine/great with the trd lowering springs. in fact its a great balance of rigidity and comfortable.

you won't be disappointed, believe me. i have them.

BIG TIP: don't buy them dealer installed. get'em from a toyota dealer online, and have them installed later. you'll save a buttload of money. believe me, i got screwed

pm me if you want to hear more about the springs. highly recommended
