Just had the box in for the last time (I hope) to the dealer for 45k deal. My dealer promised me new tires (Nittos) for free if I kept up with the 5k services. Well the tire deal wasn't as good as it sounded (damn tires lasted 44k miles), I had also been changing the oil in between the dealer's 5k. I want to keep warranty in place (120k) and can do everything my self but last time I was there they said that the intake needed cleaning. Ever heard of this. It sounded like the old Jiffy-Lube "clean your injectors" scam to me so I refused and told them I would do it my self. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks!

i thought all you had to do was get a new filter and you're set on cleaning it

It does. Maybe they mean clean out your MAF and change your filter?

well if your running a stock intake you do need to clean your filter. like literally change it. they usually change it for you if its dirty. if you don't trust them open up your airbox and look at the filter and see if its really dark/ dirty. If your running aftermarket you can buy a cleaning solution and diy
