Default 05-06 Headlight stock/oem bulbs

I go to replace my stock bulbs since what was in there used to be a white colored light. but age caught up and they began dimming. the color was not the normal yellow-white that we all know is usually stock. I replaced them with Toyota's parts, thinking that is what's in there from the factory. I pull out the bulbs and there is the name SYLVANIA! Plus when I look at the filament it's about 2mm LONGER than the Toyota branded part! Now correct me if I'm wrong but a longer filament would equal more light, correct?

But this is the part you'll love! I put one "new" Toyota bulbs in and it's as yellow-white as the old bulb! I was laughing so hard! How funny is that?!

Now my question is, I would like to get what I had in terms of white light. But all this bulb says is "Sylvania 9006 HB4U", anyone know how I can find EXACTLY what was in there. They were the most white I've ever had from a stock halogen, and no they weren't silverstars. Just regular clear bulbs.

let me know....

^^ thanks to both of you for telling me what was factory, that helps. I googled it, looks like they're standard 9006 Sylvania bulbs. $10 at autozone. Have to see if the filament looks the same. Funny it was much longer than the Toyota parts bulb.

Looks like Those Toyota replacement bulbs are made by KOITO, which also makes our headlight assembly. But they sure don't match the quality of the sylvanias!

Now what's the deal with the silverstar, ultrastar hype? I've heard that any bulb that is brighter is actually using more power than it should and can burn out the wiring harness. someone help me out with that. I always thought it was all hype.

Just get regular silverstars if you don't go HIDs, which I think you should.
