I am running 5mm spacers for the rear on mine right now, I wouldn't go anymore than that.

I'd say 8mm is the largest you should go on oem studs. Any bigger and you need extended studs or the bolt on spacers. Just make sure to torque em down nicely and check it periodically.

I run 8mm in the back, as well as some of my friends with 240s who have been doing it for quite a while with no problems.

My wheels are 18x8 +46mm offset, now +41mm offset.

Sorry no pics right now.

I agree with jaewrek. 5-8mm you will be fine. I ran 5mm for the longest with no problems and I went up to 8mm all around.

Hey scion_andrew, you should get some bolt on spacer since your wheels are really sunk in. And you wont need to remove and studs.

IMO I woudln't even consider using spacers without extended studs but that's just my .02..

5~8mm will be maximum (I'd stick with 5mm) but these sizes won't have extended hub bore while covering most/all of your stock hub so your wheel won't sit on the hub bore (studs will have to hold the rim). which is same as running aftermarket rims with bigger hub size without hub centric rings. It should be fine for DD but kinda dangerous if you track your car. I don't recommend it personally.

If you want bigger spacers, just get well-known brand one such as Ichiba, H&R, Project kics, etc that comes with new studs. I'm running Ichiba and they are okay (their studs are kinda weak tho). Ver.1 comes with new studs that you have to replace your stock studs and Ver.2 has studs that's already mounted on the spacers.

What I've learned from my mechanic friend is that if you can turn your lug nut at least 5 full turn then it should be fine for regular use but maybe not for spirited driving/racing.

7.5 +20 should look okay on stock body but it's not aggressive. :)

Yeah, a 15 or an 18mm spacer all the way around would get you on your way towards flush and itll go with the stech drop well.

Dear no, for those size spacers youll either need pass through ones that come with new longer studs (tap the old ones out and pull the new ones in), or bolt on ones that bolt onto your stock studs but have new studs mounted in them that you attach your wheel to. Be sure to get ones that are hubcentric though.

Just get the bolt on spacers. Makes it easier.

word an 8mm spacers make a difference in look? or a 5mm spacer? instead of going the longer stud route

dqlostsoulz

Not too much.

yeah, i mean 8mm is only about a quarter of an inch, and considering the OEM wheels sit an inch+ into the wheel well it wont be too noticeable of a difference. Dont get scared about bolt on spacers, theyre the best way to go (other than new wheels with more aggressive offsets) and theyre not as difficult to install as they sound.

25.4mm = 1 inch. do the math. lol :D

8mm is almost a third of an inch.. :D

quick question instead of starting a new thread, i have an xrs matrix with the disk brakes in the rear. looks really simular if not the same as the tc, i was trying to install 15mm ichiba ver.1's on the rear and i got the old studs off but couldnt get the new ones on, like there was no space for me to get the stud in. is there another way to install them with out taking every little part apart from the rear assembly. i just took the rotor out and tapped out the old studs.

BlkTC

damn.. i'm not sure about that, but if i recall, there was something about some studs that needed to be pressed in (from the back of the hub). so i'm guessing that you would need to just pop it out and then put the new studs in..
