Spacers
I'd say 8mm is the largest you should go on oem studs. Any bigger and you need extended studs or the bolt on spacers. Just make sure to torque em down nicely and check it periodically.
I run 8mm in the back, as well as some of my friends with 240s who have been doing it for quite a while with no problems.

5~8mm will be maximum (I'd stick with 5mm) but these sizes won't have extended hub bore while covering most/all of your stock hub so your wheel won't sit on the hub bore (studs will have to hold the rim). which is same as running aftermarket rims with bigger hub size without hub centric rings. It should be fine for DD but kinda dangerous if you track your car. I don't recommend it personally.
If you want bigger spacers, just get well-known brand one such as Ichiba, H&R, Project kics, etc that comes with new studs. I'm running Ichiba and they are okay (their studs are kinda weak tho). Ver.1 comes with new studs that you have to replace your stock studs and Ver.2 has studs that's already mounted on the spacers.
What I've learned from my mechanic friend is that if you can turn your lug nut at least 5 full turn then it should be fine for regular use but maybe not for spirited driving/racing.
