Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position ($167) Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 ($139) sciontc_mich 02-15-2005, 05:58 PM i've heard owners of s2000's who've had the s-03's.. nice, but they've told me they wear quickly.. plus in wet conditions not much after the tread is a little less.. I'd personally recommend looking at the pirelli pzero nero's.. but that's my .02.. and i've never been a big fan of goodyear.. hahaitzskippy 02-15-2005, 08:17 PM s-03 reall good tire but the more performance, the less life. brian 02-15-2005, 09:29 PM s03s are great performance tires. iowagary 02-15-2005, 11:03 PM Those are obviously more geared to performance on dry roads so I wouldn't know. You can probably leverage the opinions of a lot more people by heading over to tirerack.com and just checking the reviews. Botom line is I'm sure both will spank the stock RE92s. tC_Dragon 02-16-2005, 05:26 AM I have no personal experience with the s03's but its actually my #1 choice for next tires if it fits within my budget. I've heard nothing but good things about them and i actually heard they have pretty decent traction even in wet surfaces. If you do get em... let us know what u think. bubblemyster 02-16-2005, 05:59 AM Eagle F1 1st rating is dry 2nd rating is wet last rating is treadware. Surveyed Averages 9.3 9.1 9.0 N/A 8.9 8.8 8.6 8.6 8.1 SO3 Surveyed Averages 9.3 8.8 8.6 N/A 9.0 8.9 7.8 7.7 6.7 . Looking at the survey Eagle F1 is better. My family has used good year twice one on our highlander and murano that was stock. It was good. I've riden dunlop(favorite after goodyear, ride was quiet and great), bridgestone for the highlander and matrix and now tC. (so there is my stock, the firehawks on matrix and the bridgestones on the highlander. I am hesitant to consider pirelli pzero nero's because I have never used them and like venturing into new territory need my hand held. I realize that this decision can't be made for me but more information regarding the pzero nero's would be great. Such as personal experience alond with treadware, useage in dry, wet, slippage, etc. I can look up specs myself, so don't give me a web address to pireli's web site. I hate my stock tires because whenever it rains in bakersfield, california (doesn't rain too much but rains lightly often enough) my tires slip often and I loose traction. I took turns today with the stock tires and wow they were great in the dry. I loved them. Took a turn that was supposed to be taken at 35 at 60. Tires held well. No slippage or anything. But in the rain its a whole new ball game. THanks in advanced for your help. bubblemyster 02-16-2005, 06:11 AM just the pzero nero or any other model? Balbo04 02-16-2005, 06:20 AM well since we are all talking about tires... i had michelin pilots on my old 18's way expensive but i really liked them.... i probably wouldnt recommend them because of the price and tire wear was average but i also had bad camber angle and i didnt rotate as much as i should.... dont mean to add to the mess haha just adding a thought bubblemyster 02-16-2005, 06:23 AM thoughts are appreciated. sciontc_mich 02-16-2005, 11:25 AM just the pzero nero or any other model? well i don't have experience with anything in pirelli's line up other than the pzero nero m&s which is what's on my tC right now.. I think they are great.. changed the car's driving style completely.. sticks better, handles better, steering much sharper.. ride is smooth and quiet.. i think it's an awesome tire.. so that's why I was recommending them.. but the s-03s are good too.. i wouldn't try the potenza 950 tried that one before the pzero nero. and felt it wasn't that great of a tire, not as nimble as the pzero's HIN_tC 02-16-2005, 01:39 PM Im debating about which tires to get. what do you all think. Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position ($167) Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 ($139) You can also look at tire reviews to help make your choice at: http://www.1010tires.com/tirereviews.asp?category=Summer+Tires They have reviews of all different types of tires skinny 02-16-2005, 01:48 PM my two cents- toyo proxes, toyo's i have always had good luck with but between your two pics i would say goodyear iowagary 02-16-2005, 02:26 PM I've got the Continental ContiExtremeContacts on my car - they were a good bit cheaper than the Pirelli PZero Nero M&S's and you can get them at Discount Tire. They handle great, never slip, and even work good in some light snow. I felt good up in the mountains when it was me in my little tC surrounded by SUVs. I thought I was the only car up there and then I saw a Carolla. It was stranded in the middle of the road and I had to detour around it :) bubblemyster 02-16-2005, 10:58 PM which toyo proxes? unlmtdndeavor 02-16-2005, 11:25 PM which toyo proxes? i have toyo fz4's and although i am satisfied with them, they are nothing special. the good ones are t1-s. if you are looking for something very sticky, then just go with the michel pilot sport ps2's. they are pretty much the top rated tires. cq107 02-17-2005, 01:49 AM why not Kumho Ecsta MX, or Falken Azenis? way cheaper than the s03s. I don't know anything about the goodyear F1... |
