Tein basic coilover kit
The way I look at it is if Im gonna spend that much on coilovers anyways, I might as well get the SS with adjustable damping and such. Another good option is the new Progress coilovers. They seem to be in the middle pricewise between the Tein basics and the SS. Oh, and I read that the Teins fully slammed really isnt that low. Like just a little lower than the S-tech springs. I think the Progress have more adjustability in the ride height. My 2 cents.
I'd like to know more about the Basics as well. I refuse to just put springs on my stock shocks, and aside from doing the TRD shock/spring combo, this is the only other (somewhat) affordable option out there at the moment.
The TEIN SS or the BASIC's are great. it will give you the smooth yet more aggressive ride most drivers are looking for.
if you really wanan go adjustable shocks then SS is what you want. but seriously i dunt think its needed in anyway. ull have it mostly set on 1 rating for most of the time. so you can save a little bit of $$ and buy the BASICS.
you can wait for other companys that make dampers such as H&R, KONI, TOKICO, etc. but the TEIN BASICs are the best i hear from all car owners out of all the other companies.
and as of now TEIN is the only company that provides the LOWEST drop for the TC.
F 2.4
R 2.0

just saying im pretty sure 2.4 and 2.0 is the prefered ride hieght at least when i got them for my old car it could go lower then what it said for "Ride height"
the ride hieght adjust range is this for tein basics...
F -1.4 ~ -2.7
R -1.4 ~ -2.6
when you go lower then the prefered you might run into troubles i started rubbing when i had to make sharp turns when i slammed my all teh way down but i really loved them i had the basics and they were for sure worth it to me... it was also the only coilover system out for my car

well im runin S techs and the drop is almost as low. no rubb wat so ever. an there are people with 18's on teh same springs and no rubbing... i coud be sumting else makin noise?
I am just curious how the ride is with the basics. I know that upgrading to a coilover system to improve handling will always sacrifice ride quality. I'm just hoping its not like my MR2....I have KYB shocks & Intrax springs on that, and that combo is just too stiff for daily driving.
I say go with the basics, Im still waiting on mine, ordered Late last week. Should get them by the end of this week. I will let you guys know what I think, but I did my research, and the TEIN coilovers have the highest spring rate out of any other manufacturer, especially just replacement springs, you cant beat coilovers, if you got the money, get em!
I would personally go with the JIC coilovers if ur going for excellent handling. JIC offers a stiffer spring rate with their coilover dampers. Personally I dont like Tein, to soft a spring/shock for my taste.

i have a question about these springs. i heard that coilovers are hard to install/ work with or somthing like that. My friend told me that i would need sombody who really knows what they are doing to adjust the hieght perfectly to match the wiehgt of the car to ride smooth and perform well.
ehh well there are prefered settings you can use.. there are alot of ways to mess with them before you but them on... we always would put the spring base all the way down and then thread up and count how many threads or how many turns we would put it up... so all of them were the same... installations isnt hard...on older cars you can run into problems jsut because nothign has been touched in so long and the water and build up..... because all you do is take out the whole stock assembly take off the top mounts and put it back in for the front and on the rear i think they just go right in in place of the stock components and you bolt it down to.... since they are newer cars i cant see running into to man problems from coroshin (sp) or rust probalby jsut tight as hell.... coliovers are adjustable for a reason so you can move it up and down just depends i think for what your paying colivers over are the way to go you never know if you need to raise your car up and it comes with shocks made for the system..... well i think i elaborated to much... its really not to hard unless your die hard in which there prefered settings you can use
anyone else care to tell of there experiences or correct me if im wrong? this is just from my experiences alone.....
