I just did a blue LED conversion to my gauges and center console. My gauges look perfect, bright and everything but my console is really dim. I've checked and double-checked all connections and solder joints but no luck. Is there any way to bridge more power over to these LED's to make them brighter?

 

Just for the sake of double checking, make sure the dimmer control **** is all the way up (on the far right of the gauge cluster). Mine are always max bright but maybe, however unlikely they are seperate.. Good luck.

 

I'm having the same trouble with my interior LEDs. I have noticed, too, in some pictures of other installs the center console is very dim. It's almost as if the LEDs aren't getting enough voltage. If anyone can shed any light onto this I'd be very appreciative

I did the same thing with my White LEDs...LOL

The problem is the LEDs are the wrong voltage requirement for the Console..

So I did some searching and found the right ones.. LOL

So Now mine are RED..

 

You did a great job on the red, looks great. But blue's my thing, I just think it matches the Flint Mica (that and I've already sunk $50 for them). I heard there was a way to increase the voltage to the LEDs since it seems they're on the same circuit. That's the solution I'm after, either that or find lower volatge LEDs to replace them with but blue is hard to find

Oh BTW, did you do your headunit or is it the 6-disc?

 

yea i know..I spent 60 on my white..wanna know something funny I spent 12.00 on my RED LEDS LOL and they work so..

Also I orderd the Bulb in the Cubby hole its not in the pic but its the same color

 

Just out of curiousity, what are the voltage, amp and mcd ratings of your red ones?

 

I dont know off the top of my head but they work trust me..I wish I could find these in Blue cause alot people want blue

and they are cheap..

I'm also going to do the blue - I found these after some intense searching thru google -

Blue SMD (surface mount device) LEDs made by TOYODA GOSEI in a PLCC2 (3.2MM X 2.8MM) package. The LEDs have 120 degrees viewing angle and a typical intensity of 75 mcd, part number E1S03-AB1A7-02

These are the specs on the Blue LED's

They will work from 3.3v to 3.9v, which is the lowest voltage I've found so far in the blue.

I found a 30 pack tape of them on Ebay and bought them for $7.00

I should have them this week, I'll let everyone know if they glow bright enough.
