Default Katzkin Leather for the tC...

Has anyone purchased/installed a Katzkin Leather interior for the tC... One of my big gripes with the tC is its cheap interior fabric and i'm looking for some leather options...

hey lvnurs9, are you doing a self install? How is it? Is it really as bad as some people say it is? Are you worried about the warranty by doing the self install.

Do the embroider "Katzkin" come on all there leather? I'd prefer not to have them there...

Lvnurs9, how much was the leather kit btw?

No it does not come on all of them. I have had a few customers get Katzkin leather in their tC. We charge $1199 for it installed and this includes all the seats, both fromt door pannels, the rear pannels, and the center armrest.

Ya its your choice for the logo. I installed the seats by myself so I saved the $500 on the install. James at Creative Compacts can order the leather for you. Call him for pricing as there are many different options. They will run about $600-700 approximately.

Here are a few pics of the back seats. I will get to the door panels soon I hope.

Few questions for you.

1) do you remove your fabric covers to put in the leather?
2) how hard/easy was the install. people say its easy but some say its a pain in the ... because of the way it stretches and such?
3) any issues with the rear seats reclining or not reclining due to the new leather?
4) is it worth it, does it feel good and high quality, any problems with it, it doesnt look like cheap seat fabrics does it?
5) any glue or adhesive involved with it or is it just a direct add on to the seats?
6) you think they can embroider the scion logo, "scion" or "tC" into the seats or headrests?

]yes
2) how hard/easy was the install. people say its easy but some say its a pain in the ... because of the way it stretches and such?
Its not hard but yes it's a pain. The backs are easier. The front seats are a pain cause you do have to stretch the leather. Advice- just be patient cause it WILL stretch eventually lol.
3) any issues with the rear seats reclining or not reclining due to the new leather?
no issues. fits just the same
4) is it worth it, does it feel good and high quality, any problems with it, it doesnt look like cheap seat fabrics does it?
looks a million times nicer. definately worth it to me. the leather is really soft and comfortable- they have extra padding. looks real to me- not fake
5) any glue or adhesive involved with it or is it just a direct add on to the seats?
the originals are attached to the foam with hog rings. you can do a little research on yahoo and see some peoples installs to get an idea of whats involved. we used zip ties instead of hog rings to put the leather on bc its easier and faster. no glue
6) you think they can embroider the scion logo, "scion" or "tC" into the seats or headrests?
katzkin cannot use the scion or tC logo cause they dont have permission. i am sure you can get an embroidery shop to do it. Maybe even call your dealer and ask who does theirs. it can be done jsut not through Katzkin. you can call and ask...maybe they did get permission now....

Alrite I will try to find a Katkin dealer nearby and hopefully get some leather this month.

lvnurs9 - Thanks so much for answering my questions, real nice of you and now I know everything I wanted to know, I'm good to go!

Now to find who sells it in the area and what I can do about a sweet deal!

Very nice upgrade. Might have to consider getting that done if the cloth seats become an issue with me.

Looks nice... could do without the katzkin Logo....

I've got the leather/suede interior.

You've all seen it before.
