I hit a huge pothole last night on 287 southbound. The 19" TRD wheel is damaged. My tC now has 2 front stock 17" wheels and 2 rear 19" TRD wheels running (i know, it's funny looking :) ). Do you think it's going to cause problems?

Just put the 17's all back on it. You'll look like someone that can only afford two rims driving around with two stockers and two 19's.

You won't have any problems if its not for a long period of time. Later down the road your alignment is probably off due to a hard hit like that so you could wear ur tires out very quickly.

Just go get a rubber or plastic hammer (dead blow) and give the bend some good whacks.. It should bend back to somewhat normal. I used to work for a custom wheel shop and that is what we did and we never had problems. Good luck!!

It will look kinda cool I think, making the car have a more aggressive stance, but then people will think you are trying to make it RWD

If you do it right you can fix it perfect. I've done this to tons of 17,18,19 inch wheels and when i was done i would throw them on a balancer and the bend would become almost undetectable!! If done right you should have no prob, I've been doing this for a long time. Just hit it and check it hit it and check it and so on till it looks like it should.. Or take it to a pro.. Good luck!!!

I wouldn't do that without applying heat first. When aluminum bends in one direction without heat it becomes brittle, bending it back will amplify the effect. I did the exact same damage to my stock 17" rim and I used a 6ton press and a oxygen-acetylene torch with a rosebud tip to heat it up briefly and bend it back with the press, then I used a tig welder to strengthen the areas I heated because they began to puddle briefly. Re-applied clear coat finish to the aluminum and the wheel even balanced out with the same weight that came on the tire from the factory.

It turned out pretty true to the eye, however I filled it up with 49psi and its down to 44 a few weeks later. Keep in mind its Minnesota, so we've had sub zero temperatures and warming back up... It lost about 3psi more than the other tires that were not damaged. For being a free repair I deem this acceptable.

wow...i wish i knew how to fix wheels and had access to that equiptment. although seems like a lot of work when it can be fixed at a shop for under $100. good work though

there is only 2 shops that I could find that would fix wheels in the twin cities, and they both admitted to sending them out. $250 was the lowest estimate and they said it would be 2 weeks. .. So I did it myself ;)
