Default Box got rear ended

Man... I was sitting at a red light today, then BOOM. Some idiot in a Dodge pickup slammed into me from the rear doing about 30 mph. I'm real worried about damage I can't see. The hatch is obviously screwed. The bumper looks fine, minus 1 crack and much scuffing, but it's obvious it took most of the force. I have no idea what's under there, but it sure messed up his truck. All 4 doors seem to open fine, and hopefully it rains tonight so I can see if there are any leaks.

I'm so ____ed! Not even 27k miles, it still smells new, and I've had it since day 1! My insurance company says to take it to my shop, and have them send them the estimate. Should I just take it to the Toyota dealer's body shop? They should know the car best, right?

I got rear ended too..

the hatch has to get replaced as well as the left tail light Also as you can see the window completely cracked!..the bumper shock absorber is damaged and has to get replaced. top corner of the bump came out and scratched, has to be repainted. All this damage came out to about 2,800$ (rounding off). Sucks to see her in the shop so i know what you're going through bro. Good luck

you can take it to a toyota dealership's body shop, or any quality body shop.

The estimate will be based souley on a visual inspection of the damages going on what they can see. they will then project the supplement costs guessing at what additional repairs will be needed to try and determine if the car is a total loss or not.

sucks, sorry you got rear-ended. BTW, out of curiousity, which insurance companies are involved? who do you have, and who does the other company have?

I would not be surprised if it was totaled. Getting hit at 30 mph by a truck while stopped =

Geez, you hit it dead on. The total estimate came out to be just over $1600, but they haven't done the supplemental yet. I have Electric Insurance through my work, and the guy who hit me is from out of state and has Amerisure. I have a feeling it will be closer to $2800 like Effortless as the damage is very similar, almost identical.

MadMike, I do have pictures, but have to figure out how to transfer them from my phone to an Acer. I'm sore, but the doc said I'll be fine.

It just kills me man... mileage is actually 24,417, and the shop guy told me no colormatch is guaranteed.

2 weeks later, the box is still in my driveway. Phone tag FTL. Hopefully it can hit the shop soon. I'm tired of living with the dread that it might be totaled. The rear hatch is leaking now when it rains.
