i had to replace my windshield this past weekend due to a small crack that turned into two long cracks in the windshield. I think small rock hit it while i was on the freeway. I paid $280 installed for the new one. Has anyone else had to replace their windshield?

Deng I'm glad I haven't had any windshield cracks. Sorry to hear that Louie. So was the $280 done at the dealership or some windshield repair shop.

And it only costs a few extra dollars to add.

A small rock/pebble/something hit my windshield on a roadtrip. I'm just hoping it doesnt spider or grow. Until I see a reason it will stay unreplaced.

they wanted $560 becuase it was a TOYOTA windshield.......

Thier is differences between the two BTW, ask any "good" glass shop....

Exactly..but glass is glass and they all break given the conditions. But if you had to pay either $280 for an after market one or 560 for a toyota there is a big difference too. The "Toyota" windshield that I replaced cracked all the way though from a little rock..i would rather take 2 chances with an after market windshield for the same cost of a toyota windshield. Just my 2 cents.

well since we all pay throught the nose for insurance, when my windshield broke i made damn sure i stiffed my insurance for a $575 bill....

No different than when your car has body damage.- do you want OEM parts or aftermarket?- I will stick with OEM!!
