Are the outside door mirrors really heated ?? Does anyone know for sure?? I thought I read that they were, but I have never seen them work, like melting snow or ice. Just asking.

Definately not heated. Wish they were.

you know i was wondering the same exact thing 2 days ago...
Actually I think they may be. When i turned up the heat and set the vent dial all the way right (defrost mode) the ice off the mirrors melted pretty quickly... whereas snow in near the same location did not (so it likely wasn't ambient heat from the windows).

I wish they were in a big way. If I were to mod my mirrors,
the new ones would HAVE to have that feature!

You could try using this product:

Burco Redi Heats are for use in cars or trucks with factory installed heated mirrors.

Product Benefits: Adaptable - may be used to create a heated mirror situation (additional wiring required).

I'm interested in getting heated mirrors for my xB. But, I'm not willing to make the prototype and to "sail into uncharted waters." I'd like to follow some other trail-blazer on this one. Thanks to anyone who takes this challenge and does this DIY.

for that site they do list the xB as an application, but we have to call for availability... so maybe they have something or will make something if theres enough interest.

another company I've found that have after market heated mirrors is
www.muthco.com
however the xb isnt listed as an app
