Blowout did body damage
I had a blowout on my rear passenger tire yesterday on the Interstate. By the time I was able to slow down and pull off the highway, my tire was shredding into pieces and flying everywhere. I safely got off the highway and put my spare on and headed home. I am putting some new rear tires on tomorrow morning, but my concern is the body damage the tire did as it was falling apart. I am not too savy with cars so I am assuming part names.
I have attached two pictures, the first being my rear driver side wheel area. Everything is normal. The second picture is of the damaged side. As you can see the item circled in red (1st picture) is completely missing. Because of this, the plastic button/tab from the ?side skirt? isn't attached to anything.
Can someone help me with the part names here and what I need to purchase to have this fixed? Is that missing piece that got shredded off part of the ?side skirt? or some other piece of body? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
