Default Is this weird to anyone else?

OK I was down at the races tonight minding my own business, cop pulls behind me at a stop light and turns on his lights, i pull to the side he comes up to my window and tells me "Im pulling you over for not having a front lisence plate." which is all good because i dont have one (who does on their xB?) I get home and my ticket says its a moving violation! is that right?

Depends, some states like Texas require you to have a front lisence palte. that sucks.

You're in a car and you're moving. That's a moving violation. If you were parked, that would be a parking violation.

you need to get a license plate bracket pronto...
as for whether its a moving violation... umm i don't know .. i would think it shouldnt be... but you have to check your state law as they differ from state to state... it is a VTL violation though... i would think it falls under the same place as broken taillights and such.
you can always plead NG and see what happens

Ha - you need to get to know some cops man. In jersey if that happens we call up our friends and get it taken care of. _______ cop. You need to find out what the law is and if its not a moving violation...get to court and get rid of those/that point.

I lived in washington for 13 years and it is a 2 plate state. I tried putting the front plate on dashboard, but the cops don't
like that either. How did he know that you didn't have a front
plate? Did he turn around ?

Here, a moving violation has to do with how you are driving (tag/registration violations). You can get pulled over while moving for having a headlight/taillight out, but it is a non-moving violation and doesn't put any points on your license. Just wanted to point out that just because you are moving doesn't mean you will get a moving violation for any and every infraction.

My post should have said "...has to do with how you are driving (AND tag/registration violations)."
