You can do it yourself with the help of a friend in about an hour or two. Just find a friend who's mechanically inclined and buy him/her lunch and some beers for the effort.
There's really not much to it and you certainly don't need a spring compressor or to remove any brake lines or get an allignment.
Hell, I'd help you if you were closer and it wasn't colder than a witches tit outside.
On a side note, you might want to wait til the spring judging by the potholes in and around beantown.

My dealership quoted me $389 for install and allignment. To that I said, WTF-ever.
I installed them myself in about an hour. Use the spring install post under Features>Tech. It's so simple to do. Save yourself the $$ and do it for free.

BTW, who are you referring to when you say, "you guys suck?" No one reply to your thread fast enough for you?

well...i asked for it to be added as an option when i bought my tC. it only cost me $199 extra on my final cost of the car. that was the only option i requested. i'm kinda shocked at all the other prices i'm seeing.

$629. That is how much they want for the tC, xA, and xB. If you are just looking for a mild drop, get Tein H's installed @ a certified dealer near you. That is what I am doing but I Am getting S techs. The dealerships are crazy when it comes to "book time". and I let them know that, but then they started with this "pure pricing" story. I know what it is, but that only extends to MSRP.. Install time varies from dealer to dealer.

Bottom line, dont wait for your dealer, it is really hard to mess up spring install, just get a local shop to do it, and save ALOT of money.

I got my Goldlines installed for free by my girlfriends dad, I helped though. He runs a shop BTW. I asked him what he would normally charge and he said around $110 or $120.

And I thought my dealer was crazy :| . The dealerships really dont get it. No one is going to hack up that cash for install. If they truely want to keep their customers comming back, they need to make their rates comepeteive, most importantly the Scion line. Alot of people around me are offering me great deals, because I will wear their decal, and they want their parts on a Scion.

Scion has the new generation of car buyers hooked into buying their cars, but, after that, the dealership is really out of the loop. Their buying system, where you can make your car is nice, but their aftermarket parts/install is for the birds.

My dealership wants $500 for purchase and install. I was gonna do it cause I could drive off that way. I just found out that I pick up my car tonight, but the springs arent' going to be here for 3 days. If thats the case, I think I am gonna get the H&R springs and have a local shop install them. It would save about $100 and have a little better drop
