View Full Version : Question about this crack in bumper scott- 03-11-2005, 05:09 AM http://www.ph34rit.com/xb/xb4.jpg Is there a specific reason why they put it there? UnFocused 03-11-2005, 05:14 AM yes, so it will fit in the back hatch when it's shipped from japan LiquidXB 03-11-2005, 05:16 AM yes, so it will fit in the back hatch when it's shipped from japan Interesting is this true? If so i did not know that and i have been wondering the same thing.. You learn something new every day... scott- 03-11-2005, 05:23 AM ooo...i am thinking about getting it molded to one piece..just wondering if it really is needed or not :D UnFocused 03-11-2005, 05:29 AM when the xb's come to the dealership, a Tech installs those two piece and the black mudflap/support at the dealership. That crack would not be ther if the piece was installed at the factory. xB's have marine hooks mounted to the frame so when they come over from japan, they wont bounce around. those two pieces are in the way beacuse they are too low. thus, they are placed in the hatch untill they arrive to USA!! scott- 03-11-2005, 05:48 AM thank you :D n_bb 03-11-2005, 07:24 AM There is 4WD specification in Japan. Therefore, because the exit of the muffler becomes 4WD specification left, it is divided. 365Motorwerks 03-14-2005, 02:26 AM n_bb ..... there are 4wd xb's or is it just the chassis platform on a different model? As for the molding if you wanted to keep the stock lip a body shop can plastic "weld" it together kind of like a hot glue gun for plastic. 1loxBchick 03-14-2005, 04:41 AM I've got mine as 1-piece now http://www.streetsourcemag.com/viewownerprofile.aspx?profileid=31204 windowtint 03-14-2005, 05:14 AM crappy, in the dark, raining pics --- (you'd think after x-number of months .. I could take 15 seconds for a day shot in the sun....) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/windowtint/SCION%20XB%20HOT%20LAVA/2de1af07.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/windowtint/SCION%20XB%20HOT%20LAVA/a33bb312.jpg scott- 03-14-2005, 05:40 AM man looks awesome..thanks for the pics!! did you just get it molded or is it a whole new piece? windowtint 03-14-2005, 05:52 AM no, it was welded together and the cut-out piece grafted into the driver side from a new passenger side part. n_bb 03-14-2005, 07:01 AM bB 4WD pic.http://image.blog.livedoor.jp/bb_0068/imgs/3/9/395feba5.jpg |
