Anyway this can be fixed? If it comes to replacement parts, how much would you guess to replace?

 

you can try a plastic polish.. or worst comes to worst you can sand down and repaint it.

 

Id say repaint it and to fix the problem longterm, hardwire the detector into your fuse panel with an add a circuit.

Just hard wire it to your sun roof. Radars placed right above the dashboard dont even work properly. They need to be mounted higher around the rear mirror. /fail

 

Fail, really? In terms of performance having it mounted in the conventional position has been great. No tickets ever. Plenty of warning. And isn't there that spotted area above the rear view mirror? Seems to me that would impede performance of the detector. But, if not then great. Might try that.

never said above...i ment like either right or to the left of. The performance is better and is increase by a lot for laser detection.

 

I've seen used "waterfalls" go for anywhere from 20-70 bucks on the for sales. You can always do that.

 

When i was detailing my car i started to notice that too. It sucks but oh well.

You should definitely hardwire your detector. Either that or at least add another cigarette lighter dedicated just for that.

As for performance, generally lower is better for laser since cops first aim for the front plate. Higher is better for radar.
