Default 2011 xB Alpine/Bluetooth issue

Hey everyone, I'm new to these forums. Just picked up a 2011 xB over the weekend and was setting up my iPhone with the Alpine stereo. I had the bluetooth option installed also. When I have bluetooth enabled on my phone the stereo automatically starts streaming audio from my iPhone to the stereo (Awful quality) I have to then go to iTunes on my phone and select the dock connection instead of the bluetooth connection every time I enter the vehicle. This is super annoying and was wondering if anyone had a work around for it.

Thanks,

-Chris

Well not that this helps any but I have the same issue with my android phone (Galaxy S2) with bluetooth on another radio. If I turn the volume down slightly on the phone the quality clears a little. Thing is that with my tablet in my car there is no quality lost so it must be an issue with phones and there lack of good bluetooth connection. Other people have had the same issue with other vehicles so it could just the phones. Try another phone or a tablet if possible.

I just updated to iOS 5.1 and this problem seemed to of went away! I will update again in the morning when I drive to work to confirm, but I suggest updating and trying it out for all you iPhone users!!!!

EDIT: False alarm. Still sucks.

Ok , try this
1 delete phone from pairing list on head unit
2 forget the device from your phone in bt settings
3 turn off phone (not sure if you have to, but I did)
4 turn phone on
5 turn car on (in park duh) and re pair device
6 turn the multi **** to bt power off(do not connect automatically)
I may have left something out ,but make sure the automatic connection of the bt is off.
Try it it worked for me!

I have a droid and not all phones are capable of this but check your bluetooth options (usually you just hold down on the device name in the bluetooth menu on your phone) and uncheck a2dp streaming so it will no longer stream music, this should solve your problem. Like I said tho not all phones can do that.

If you have a Jaibroken Iphone you can download, Service Manager, and with that you can turn of the a2dp streaming. :-D
