I was flipping through my Owner's manual today and I noticed there is a customized setting for the amount of time the interior lights remain on after the car has been shut off. The default is 15 seconds and the customized options are 7.5 seconds and 30 seconds.

After searching the Owner's manual on how to change this setting it tells me that I have to take it in to the dealership to do it. I was wondering if anyone knew what it would actually take to change this on the car and if it's actually possible to do it on your own without having to take it in to the dealership. It's nothing big but that extra 15 seconds I would gain would do wonders at night when I'm trying to put my GPS, iPod..etc away. It's not worth it to take to the dealership but if I could do it myself it'd make life a tad bit easier.

PM Scion Canada. He can probably tell you what would need to be done.

You don't like using your map lights?

That's what I'm trying to get to remain on longer. It's just a convenience thing. I find they're always shutting off on me and I have to turn them back on for a split second just to immediately turn them back off again. It's not really that bad but I just figured if there was an easy way to lengthen the time it'd be nice.

Keep us posted, I wonder if this is a feature in the xB2 as well since it too fades.
