Angry Damn ROCKS!! EDIT: finally fixed.

Well I was driving home yesterday morning when out of the corner of my eye I see a huge softball size rock coming at my car and *BANG* it hit me now my next question is I know body shops probably have different rates but how much do you all think this is going to cost me to fix... I will be going to local body shops on Wednesday to get some estimates... and next where can I find those plastic sticker things on my door to replace them as well they were also damaged. below is a picture sorry for the quality its caused by the mms photobucket upload thing.

Considering the damage is on both your rear door and rear quarter panel (where the gas tank is), it might be cheaper to just pay your insurance deductible, if that's low.

The only thing you can do is go out and get some quotes from reputable body shops.

By the way, watch out for MAACO.

I don’t mean to sound dumb but what exactly is MAACO?

MAACO is a body/paint shop...there are quite a few horror stories floating around about them. they are known for their cheap paintjobs though...which could explain why there are so many bad stories

As an FYI to how MAACO operates, they have an Ambassador paint service which includes a full coat of paint for a car's body for the low low price of...

$400.

Yup. You read that right, 2 zeroes. Trust me on this one, if a paint job only costs $400 for the entire body, you're sure to have really crappy paint. Tons of horror stories.

Yeah... $400.00 for a complete paint job does that include the free rental? I was hoping that my repair cost for that area would be around that much I really don't have a slightest clue to how much it going to be until Wednesday. But I will be going to these people here... http://www.a-1autostop.com/ for an estimate. Hopefully they give me a good price.

Sucks to see that the rock hit right above the clear bra, if only it was a bit lower. Your major expense is gonna be the repaint, you could try touching it up for now.

I don't think it would have made a difference this wasn’t any ordinary rock this was something nearing an asteroid . I called my Toyota dealer they said they have their own body shop as well so I’m going to get an estimate with them today. I was going to retouch it with the touch up paint... but it just bothers the crap out of me

Does the Toyota dealer REALLY have it's own bodyshop or does it oursource it to a paint shop? Hopefully that other paint shop is a bit more reasonable..

Well the paint shop Toyota has is owned by Paul Watson and our Toyota dealer is owned by Paul Watson they do paint for Mercedes GM and Toyota well Paul Watson owns all those dealerships. I'm going by A-1 on Wednesday see how much they'll quote me.
