View Full Version : Original Hotchkiss Tower Brace for tC......... sheep 03-22-2005, 07:50 PM I am hearing that there was a recall on the original one that Hotchkiss produced for the tC. Is there any truth to this rumor? When the original bar was installed on the car, in some cases, the bar made contact with the brake fluid reservoir. This was not acceptable and for liability purposes, Toyota and/or Hotchiks redesigned the bar. A recall was never issued for the bar since this wasn't safety issue and the redesign was done to cover their butts in case anything could be remotely connected. sheep 03-30-2005, 11:25 PM I bet that is waht is causing the annoying rattling in the engine compartmentthat they will not investigate for me. I got the bar when it first came out, and when it was discontinued, I asked if there was a recall and he explained that they were redesigning it. I did send it, but was having computer issues that day. There is no problem with the original brace. It just ran close to things and we (Toyota/Hotchkis) decided to improve the distance between the brake MC and the vac valve that is attached to the intake.
