itzjere 03-26-2005, 12:00 AM Welcome and nice xA and wheels.
How much money are you looking to spend on a GPS system? I'm guessing your looking for a mobile GPS unit, rather than something build into the headunit?
TJandBOXCARWILLIE 03-26-2005, 06:41 AM Welcome!Nice xA and wheels.
DJ_X_Trodinaire 03-26-2005, 06:52 AM hello and welcome!
ASL? lol
TheFly 03-26-2005, 07:26 AM I just picked up my Scion on Thursday myself. I was driving around with a friend and photographer from a local Delaware paper when GPS came up. Personally, if you've got an Axim, I'd go with something that would work with that. That way, you're not tied into your car all the time.
I have a Treo650 and will be looking at getting something that works with that.
Nice color, by the way. Same as mine. *winks*
I use this:
http://www.elkel.qc.ca/garmin_f/etrexlegend.gif
It doesn't have a big color screen, but it is accurate and detailed, has all the important features and you can upload new maps to it. It only cost me $99 on sale (normally $150 I think)
The big advantage for me and the reason I didn't get one for my HP iPaq is that this one is shock resistant, heat resistant and waterproof. I can take it hiking and camping and not worry about it. It runs forever on 2 AA batteries.
The PDA based one will give you a nice color display though, which is nice as long as you don't mind connecting/disconnecting the GPS from your PDA when you want to use the PDA for other things and you don't plan on using it for a canoe trip or something, like I would. Something to think about though.
claire82 03-26-2005, 03:57 PM im looking to spend about ~200 for a gps.. and yeah i want it mobile.. i was wondering if pharos gps for my dell axim would work.. i want it mobile and still have my pda with me. i'll be traveling alot anyway for my work. anyway.. gps is the last accessory im gonna put in my car... (not actually a biggie on modding my car.. except for the rims :) )
scootn_low 03-26-2005, 06:17 PM Nice ride. I like your wheels. Who and what size?
I use a Garmin iQue 3600 (http://www.garmin.com/products/iQue3200/#)for my gps travels and it's also a PDA. Just click on your address book, locate the address then route to. You can also sync the addresses from your puter.
I use a ram mount with a suction cup from ram-mount.com (http://www.ram-mount.com/ramgps.htm) in the my xA. I'll get some pics to you later. Doing the Easter thing...

BigQid 04-05-2005, 04:10 AM I'm considering an xA. Do the front seats in an xA recline all the way so that you can sit in the back seat with your legs stretched out over the front seats? They do in a tC. This question might be out of place but I didn't want to start a whole new topic for this one question.
Ph30nix 04-05-2005, 04:17 AM nope...but the front seats recline enough that ur pretty much laying down...very comfortable for me

I know they do in the xB...and I would think so in the xA, although, you would have to pull the seat forward, then recline.
I'll have to find out!
Carlanga 04-05-2005, 06:09 AM Welcome to SL. Looking good man, but look for a drop asap.
