Finished my glovebox! (DIY)
I sanded the glovebox down to eliminate that bumpy stock texture and did the whole primer/wetsand thing a few times, then sprayed adhesion promoter, then painted many white coats.. then eventually clear coated.

Did the same thing to the pillars as well.
edit: Here are the steps I used for this mod.
OK.. so this is basically the process I used to paint some of the interior parts.
**DISCLAIMER** If you decided to start painting stuff, you are doing so at your own risk! So don't get ____ed at me if you screw up!
Materials needed:
1) Carefully remove the plastic part you want to paint. If the part has to be pryed off with a screwdriver, be sure to tape the end of the screwdriver so as not to damage the part.
2) Make sure you have a place to comfortably do your sanding.
3) Use your electric sander with 220 grit to sand the surface of the part. Remember, the goal is to revome the bumpy stock texture so be patient, as this will take a while. You will know that you're done with the 220 grit sanding phase when you are able to slide your hand across the part without feeling any bumpy texture.
4) Clean off all dust from the part.
5) Prep a dust-free area where you can start spraying the primer.
6) Spray the flexable primer/filler onto the part making sure that you're getting an even coverage. Allow it to dry and then apply another coat of flexable primer/filler. Allow 2nd coat to dry.
7) Wetsand using the sanding block with 400 grit automotive sandpaper.
8. Repeat step 6.
9) Repeat step 7.
10) Wetsand using sanding block with 600 grit automotive sandpaper.
11) Clean off all dust from the part. (Really!) By now... the piece should be as smooth as a baby's ___.
12) Spray 1st coat of adhesion promoter. Wait about 2 1/2 minutes and apply a second coat.
**Painting** (Make sure that you prep the area well so that is as dust-free as possible) I cannot stress this enough!!!
13) Lightly apply first coat of paint, starting off the part and ending off the part making sure that you are getting an even coverage. Wait about 8-12 minutes.
14) Repeat step 13.
15) Repeat step 14.
16) Repeat step 15.
17) Depending upon temperature, allow for at least 2 hours of drying time after your final coat of paint. (If you have an industrial lamp, you can use it to speed up the drying process.)
18. Apply clear coat (again, making sure you are getting even coverage) Allow about 10-15 minutes of drying time between coats.
19) Repeat step 18.
20) Repeat step 19.
21) Repeat step 17.

Thanks. The initial sanding to eliminate the stock texture took a good hour with an electric sander using 220 grit. The wetsanding done manually (post primering) was a breeze... maybe 5-10 minutes each time.
On a side note: The handle assembly is easy to remove so you can get that area as well.

Looks crazy. Reflection action all over the place. And it's only the beginning.

I picked it up @ SuperAutoBacs in Stanton, CA. It was white. I couldn't resist.
