Default No air from blower motor

The bad: In the last few months I had a few occasions where the heater fan/blower motor on my 2005 xB did not blow air. It always rectified itself quickly until yesterday. Now there is now fan at all. I assume it is not the resister since it does not blow in high. What is the next likely culprit and if the fan, the best way to get to it.

The good: I bought this car new in April 2004. It has just less than 191,000 miles on it and this is the first thing I have had to repair. I have been very meticulous about maintenance but still! I have owned a LOT of cars and trucks and motorcycles and this car is as rock solid as it gets.

Wouldn't the resister fail to high speed fan with no other speeds operating?
