2005 Scion tC header questions
I'm wanting to put a header on my scion. On case it matters my current mods are strut bar TRD Short Ram intake and my exhaust is just a glass pack.. Yes haha little performance but for $180 sounds great. Anyway I was wanting to put a header on and if I do that do I have to get like a custom exhaust, mid pipe and stuff? Thanks for the replies!
the bigger the piping (to a certain extent) the better the airflow will be, so anything other than stock will be fine. It all depends on what you are wanting out of your car, I would say just go with an exhaust first as the headers tend to give off a noise that not much owners like.
/\ yep, headers will give off a raspy sound that gets kind of annoying sometimes. It can be somewhat fixed by welding in a larger resonator to your midpipe though, which I plan to do when I can scratch up some extra pennies

Number two: what kind of intake is that?
Number three: if you really want to add a header, you can. And my choice would be the DEZOD Green header. Everyone says we get rasp with a header on our 2AZFE motors. Well, I think Dezod pretty much squashed that. Now you can have an American made, crafted, and designed header, that uses a catalytic converter (high flow), and will eliminate rasp. And by the way, they're on sale right now on their website. I hope this helps. Keep modding!
I'm running a full Megan setup on my tc and its pretty damn obnoxious. I leave my silencer in at all times though, so I sound like a kazoo. But it's a totally noticeable gain in power. Still slow... But not AS slow.
