Exclamation 2008 Scion tC will not START!!!

So sometime ago my car would not start.... Well....It happened again today I had to tow it to the "dealer" and was stranded again for 3 and half hours. All lights come on but there are no clicking sounds no sounds at all from the engine bay. Just a dead turn when trying to start it. I can not figure this out it is bugging the hell out of me as I am paying close to 300$ a month for this car I can not get started. i drive it normally and keep it well maintained and I however never checked the spark plugs or wires (but I am also mechanically handicapped ) I do not want to have to rid of the car if it is not fixed properly or at all because my only option on getting another car is a civic and Id rather have the tc. So if anyone can think of something it may be let me know. btw it is a manual transmission

Here is what was checked the first time it happened:

Starter
Battery
Alternator
Sensors
Spark Plugs ( so they say)
Clutch

Thanks again for any advice, help or input in advance!

Not sure if you have already had it checked but there is a clutch start kill switch in most manual vehicles. The sensor on the clutch could be messed up, causing the car to think the clutch is not depressed and preventing start up. Let me know if this helps!

^ this man is genius. I had a friend whose Passat blew the starter fuse but we got her home by roll-starting it, (manual obviously) will it do that if you try?

Ok so after work I got a ride to the dealer. The dealer said the car started right up. I had them check the switch and clutch they said nothing was wrong with them but I was not pleased by a glance of a flashlight under my dash. I asked them if the clutch was the problem they said no. But the car is running great now so to be sure I'm taking it to another dealer I trust better to take care of the squeak with my clutch. On the outside it sounds like a bed squeaking when pressing it in so I popped the hood in front of the dealer and showed him he said its coming from inside the thing the connects the clutch to the tranny so ill find out tomorrow about that and switch. Battery has been testing great and alternator checks out too fuses and relays look great. This a mystery and a new issue for me

I agree. Was afraid to push start where I was could have caused an accident so I didn't try that

tC's evidently have a squeak issue with something in the clutch because I hear mine do it every now and then. There's probably a TSB to grease something up. Hopefully your issue with the car can be resolved!

Thanks... I had them check the switch they saw nothing on that or relay so now i am going to check fuses just to tired from work to bother with it right now plus it is running so that is what matters

the squeak is just the boot.. when you push the clutch in the metal rubs up against the boot causing it to squeak.. i believe.. someone correct me if im wrong (mine does it all the time) could put grease on it to fix

It can only be three things, starter relay, clutch interlock switch, or the starter. The most likely intermittent failure is the clutch interlock switch. If it was me Id just bypass it, but yeah...

I am surprised this has not happened to anyone else... The first time it happened i was complimenting another tC and then mine did not start the second time it wouldnt start then i kept turning the key and then it started drove a block and back then waited an hour drove it up a block parked it then it wouldn't start all dash interior and exterior lights would work. but then after it was towed and sat at the dealer overnight it started right up no problem. there would be no sounds at all. So ii started calling the tC Christine after that happened
