Default Attention Hot Lava Owners!!

I just discovered that there is a dealership around where I live that will take any scion xB for $980 and make it into a Hot lava. Same color, numbered badge, powder coated strut bar, interior orange seats lighting and cupholders. Isn't that like illegal or something? To see it for yourself do this:

1. www.scion.com
2. Build Your Scion
3. Select xB
4. Automatic Trans
5. Zip Code: 32817

Then it should ask you to choose from 3 dealers pick the one in Winter Park, FL

6. Click on the "Exterior" tab

then it is the second one on the list:

"Scion xB Release Series 1.0 Includes: Hot Lave Metallic Paint, Rear Spoiler, Orange Powder Coat Strut Tie Bar by Hotchkis, Orange LED Interior Light Kit and Cup Holder Illumination by Luxaura, Exclusive Interior Fabric, Billet Grille, Individually Numbered xB Release Series Badging, Pioneer AM/FM 6-CD Changer with 10 Color Change Illumination"

So does this mean that we will have more than 2,100 RS 1.0's? Becasue that would seriously ____ ME OFF!!!

I don't think they are saying they will paint it to match the HL and print a badge. That wouldn't be legal. They are just telling you that the HL package is $980 more and it comes with these things. I am sure if you were to fill out all the info they would contact you saying the HLs are gone. That is what I got from reading it anyway.

Yeah, I think the VanillaGorilla is right on this one. They wouldn't be able to afford to make an RS1 for that price anyway. No body shop in the world would be able to paint an entire Scion inside and out for less than $1000 let alone doing all the other stuff too.

I think it's just a matter of a website that hasn't been updated.

Now, on the other hand, Florida is a wierd place for Toyota/Scion and can get some freaky optioned cars. I've heard a rumor about them being able to get Lava xBs, but even if that were so they wouldn't be able to make them RS1.0s. There are the 2100 and that's it.

Feel the pride!

When that region set up the scion.com configurator they had the option of the RS 1.0 in the build your own. It doesn't mean that they are still selling that option, only that when you purchased an xB with that option, that is what it would cost. It doens't mean they can get you one. Reason is that the website is supposed to match what they can sell it for. It is only a CYA thing.

I don't know for certain that this is a fact, but I think this is true.

it just freaked me out. I was worried that they were going to make more of our lavas and I didn't think they were allowed and if they were allowed I would want some money back.
