Ok I have been working on deading my car and I have stripped everything.... including the headliner which I put back because there was really not that much to deaden and I didnt want to bother with it... next I went to work on removing the dash I could get to a bolt behind the steering wheel and it didnt feel like that would loosen it up to come off. Has anyone taken off the dash to get to the firewall and how with any pics...

 

What's deadening? And why are you doing it? Hope its not a dumb question, im just wondering.

yea its just to decrease road noise and vibrations in turn making your SQ better... its very common.

Yeah it is pretty loud compared to many other new cars out there, but i think a lot has to do with those tires.

 

well thats part of it and the car has very thin sheet metal on it... Im guessing the chasis is what weighs it down...

 

The glass isnt light either. I would like it more quiet too.

 

I dont know the answer to your question, but you need to remember. The more you deaden your car the heavier its going to be. The only way round this, is to get the really expensive deading material that weighs next to nothing (but doesnt work that well). I cant think of the name right now tho... Just a thought.
