Default Stock 6 CD Changer with Aftermarket HU?

Hey all... the topic says it all. I've tried to search on here for awhlie trying to find an answer to my question...

I have no idea how the 6cd changer is installed or what not, but is it possible to have it installed as an option on the car and then connect it to an aftermarket head unit after swapping out the stock one? I have a Pioneer 7600 that I'm probably gonna put in since it has RCA Preouts and all that. It's got those 6 buttons on the buttom of the HU that looked exactly designed for a changer.

Thanks guys, you've already been a great help!

I'm not sure about it either... but I think the 6cd changing is "in dash" ... as in, it IS the head unit. There's no cd changer in the trunk with a cartridge or anything.

The 6-cd changer is the head unit. They feed one at a time into the normal CD slot, so no as soon as you remove the stock head unit/changer you'll need an aftermarket changer.

Makes me sad. If I knew that before I bought it... I wouldn't have got it.
