my smoked taillights look dull, whats the best clear coat to get for the best glaze?

You should have smoked them from the inside and it would always retain a shiny look.

too late now. and i dont wanna heat and re-seal and all that. so does anyone know of any clearcoat i can use?

I know this is off your topic, but I think you'll be much happier with the results. It only takes a hour or so depending on how much masking you want to do. None in your case because you want the smoked look.

I just did the redout last night and the results are awesome. There isn't any resealing to be done. See the tech section. MAX2K had a good write up. It really wasn't hard. I also think it gives the best overall protection as well.

or use a fine rubbing compound. just be careful you don't break through or you'll have to spray again.

Before you wet sand put like 5 or 6 coats of clear on that way you can remove a couple of them and make them as shiny as possible.
To wetsand properly use a sanding block and start with like 1000 grit paper and work your way up to 2000. Then buff them out with rubbing compound and seal with wax.

that way still looks clear and ugly imo.

I use wax on mine and they get all shiny and yummy!!!
