its easy to replace i had the bulb out yesterday- just reach your hand in the small opening on passenger side right at the glovebox and console feel for 2 wires wiggle the wires and figure which one is the cubby hole light- follow the wire up to the light pull the light straight out and pull it out of the hole your hand went through and then switch the light and replace the same way!

Looks great can't wait to get my light!

the easiest way is to go over the passenger side and reach your arm in behind the console. the hole there for your arm is very small, so just pull a little of the carpet back and/or remove the little plastic anchor there to pull back more carpet to make more room if you need it.

once you do that, just reach in through the hole and you should be able to find the wire. when i did this, i didn't feel any other wires in the vicinity, so it should be the only one. once you find it, just pull out. no twisting necessary. once you pull it out, there should just be enough length to the cable so that it will stick out of where you had your arm. pull out the bulb and replace it!

also, the #74 bulb is very tiny. i wasn't able to get a hold of it with my fingers to pull it out. what i ended up having to do is wrapping some clear tape around so that it stuck to the bulb and used enough extra tape so that i could just pull on the tape with my fingers and that got the bulb to come out.

ok, this thread should now end the "#74 cubby hole bulb/light" topic forever!

thanks again for keeping the vigil but no one bothers to search. i kept your site addy in my sig for a bit but it didn't help (it went from my sig to my favorites). same questions, over and over. no one actually searches for the answer, they expect their hand held. but thanks for the attention to detail it has been invaluable to me.

hahah, no one bothers to search and mods don't bother to sticky my faq page. and i read on here the other day that someone blamed scionlife.com for the search issues because there were too many results when searching. um, no, the problem is people haven't bothered to search from the beginning and keep making redundant posts thus making the results absurdly long. that, and people are too lazy to click through the results.

and depending on the day, i'm more "helpful" than others. and it's funny because sometimes i'll link to my faq or to another thread to help answer people's questions to the redundant posts they make and then they keep carrying on conversations as if they still didn't bother to look at the answer or bother to look through the faq. i guess people are just lazy.

but yeah, thanks for the kind words and help from everyone who has supported the tC faq!
