Something that you might want to try out...
So a few days ago my K&N CAI came in, I installed it and was happy to see how close to the bumper and far away from the engine the placement was. Well to start things off, I have an '05 xA without fog lights leaving me with, well those plastic caps for if I ever do decide to get some. Anyway if you or a friend has a K&N you'll notice that it is RIGHT in front of where the fog lamps should be, so I thought to myself "if this is the case, I should take out the cap...because CAI filter in front of the fog lamp hole plus removing fog lamp cover equals DIRECT air" not air going into, under and around and up, but that AND directly into it. You should give it a try if you're willing to sacrifice a little look for functionality, not that I'm saying you'll notice a huge difference but the science is all there, anmd it probably doest a little something. Call me stupid, but give it a try and think about it...the air filter is getting DIRECT air.
yo man dont be so harsh, my weapon r intake on my xb sits behind the fog light cover. . i thoght i felt a difference but the louder you car is you feel like your going faster then you really are. . . just my opinion
I had the same idea too, seemed like a good idea to me...here was the thread I used along time ago...

hey like i said, don't expect that much of a gain, but when you think about, the air filter is getting direct air instead of direct air err...indirectly. I don't know jsut something I thought about.
