Default would you let your dealer keep your RS 1.0?

I've been waiting for it to come in. It will arrive tuesday morning .it has been cinfirmed . It was loaded on the truck monday morning at 10.30. Any way the dealer and I were talking and he mentioned that they would have liked to have been able to keep it on their showroom floor for a couple of days.
At first I said no, but I.ve been thinking that I have a trip this week and if they would let me have their customized blue xb until friday- I might be interested. I would put the miles on their's- not mine.
I know they are going to benifit from this- ie free advertisment- a hot lave to bring in potential customers etc. If I were to agree to this what should I ask for to compensate me????? Please be realistic.

WOULD YOU DO THIS ????

I would take the offer, but I think once you see YOUR Hot Lava, you won't want to leave the driver's seat man....let us know what you end up doing... :D

hell no dude, you need to hop yo ___ in and never look back ( until its time to get it serviced). ok so they may lend you their xb so what. like others have said they benefit too much, you may even lose by someone messing up yo ****. you have waited too long for your rs1.

I did it with a dealership around my area. It was only for a day, but they let me drive around a nice camry meanwhile. I like the idea of people oggling over my car.

if the dealer has been cool about everything, maybe you can work a discount on some aftermarket parts. it would really depend on how they treated me or i need the ride.

Basically, you are renting them your car. You have to decide what level of compensation you are willing to accept for it, and you have to determine who is responsible for damage to your car.

Personally, I wouldn't go for it. Too many possible downsides and no real upside.

you better get compensated for it. i mean you are gonna be making payments on it. i know they will only have it a few days or a wk. but look at the possible profit they may earn by your kind heartedness. i'd be like throw in some floor mats, extended warranty, lights, cruise control, you get what i'm saying. you can't ask for something rediculous but don't leave empty handed

I for one wouldnot mind working out something with the dealer, they can use it in a TV or Print ad, they can keep it on the showroom on a specified friday and saturday If I get a loaner. This will give them time to set up advertising or what ever.
Ie Ad reading
"2 weeks from xx date come by and see the limited edition rs1 xB only on Friday x/x or Saturday x/x from xx to xx, not the entire day say noon to close. The morning will be needed to detail it, and they will need to give it back detailed.

IF

Someone is responsible for making sure no damage occurs to the paint and upholstery.
The Front windshield clearly notes "SOLD, This vehicle provided as a courtesy to "blank Dealership" by customer "your name here".
small signs to the effect of:
"Please do not touch or lean against vehicle. This vehicle has been sold."

They have demos for sit downs, They can roll the windows down and lock the doors, and pop the hatch and everyone can go Ahh but not actually sit in it. Free detailing before returning it of course. Free mats.

If they want people to see in it with doors open, throw in the mats FREE, maybe cover the bottom of the seats with the plastic covers, and keep folks from leaning against it, particularly in LEVI jeans. (RIVETS MAKE SCRATCHES!) "Velvet rope" the sides off so only the driver's door and hood and trunk are accessible. free detailing before return, mats, and the door sill protectors!

If they wanted one to sit around at the dealer, they should have gotten them out sooner, and not made folks wait on them, or the dealer should have bought one himself.
IF NO DEAL:
If the dealer wants to use it for some publicity, hey he has the entire prep time to shoot pictures, it's not his once you sign on it...

The dealer would like to show it off, this is a great selling tool for them. If it was me, I would be cautious about having them allow people to open and shut the doors, getting in and out of it and so forth, people might scratch the car, you might get kick marks on the door opening and such - Ask them if they will repair any damage or if any marks happen. Also I see no reason not to ask them to borrow their car !

Maybe ask them also to kick in some free floormats or something ?
