In process of buying '06 tC - feedback
So, I've been reading the issues with the paint, sunroof and hatch. I'm actually in process of putting an order in for an '06. Though I'm still confused about what color to get
, I've noticed most of the complaints are with '05 owners. Do you think most of the kinks have been resolved with the '06? I know nothing is perfect, but I really like this car. I'm coming out of an old Ford, which honest hasn't given me too many problems. Overall, are you tC owners happy? Thanks!
Overall... I think almost all tC owners love their cars. I do.
I think the problems are sparse. You just see more of them b/c the people are here on SL looking for answers.
As for the color...
You really have to make that decision yourself. You're going to get a lot of biased opinions here though...

As for the color...
Thanks for your feedback. I was really impressed with what it has to offer for the money. I don't drive a whole lot, but it's just time for me to upgrade and everything costs so much. As for the color, it's down to CSM, FM and NB - it's just a matter of me deciding. I'm leaning more towards the CSM
I think the CSM is a good classy color (see, I'm partial b/c I have SSM
). The FM can look really, really slick with the right accessories (smoked tails? dark wheels?). And I think the NB is the odd color of the bunch. It's starting to be more common, but I look at it as the unique one.
i just got mine (06) if your worried about the issues that people are complaining about, talk to the dealer about them, make user your covered under your warranty, and if your really concerned, and plan on keeping the car, invest in the extended warranty, but check with your bank before buying one........ i did not get one, but it was only 500.00 to cover my car to 60,000 miles...... (Check for comsmectic and finnish coverage too) over all im pretty happy with it, got it for my wife as a communter car, and for the money compared to the M3 i own and other cars, its a decent little car.
That's pretty much what it would be for me - a road trip here and there. I don't commute to work so this would be an afterwork, weekend car. I have a friend who recently bought an '03 M3 and he shared with me the issues he's having and for that price of vehicle to have issues, the tC is a steal for what I need it for. I would break it in enought to take advantage of the warranty. I'm the kind of car owner, however who keeps a car forever.
(don't laugh but my current car is 15 years old
)
I own a NB tC and I really love the car so far. I do notice that the blue does get dirty pretty quickly. I live in a metro area, and have no way to wash the car unless I bring it into a car wash. I would say that with this color it needs washing at least once a week to keep it looking nice and shiny. I get a panic attack every time I have to bring it to the car wash, because of scratch nightmares. so I think it depends on where you live and if you can wash the car yourself. I have owned lighter colored cars and notice that the paint doesn't look as dirty as quickly. GL on your purchase! Oh and so far I have had no issues with the car. 1 month of ownership 1K miles
NB!!!! i decided to get it since it was darker than the IIP which is exactly what i wanted. FM is money too, but the most common, only drawback. 1 month in 1200 miles and loving it
I really should do the NB or BCP. My last two cars have been in the silver/grey family. I should be daring. I can get access to wash my car myself. It's my preferred choice. A friend just bought an BMW M3, so I could pamper my new car at his place--waxing and all.
Thanks for the input.
