Default Sub Amp not turning on

Tonight when I went to go in my car my sub amp didnt turn on and when i turned on the lights, the interior lighting came on EXTREMELY dim. Now the sub amp I think may just have overheated, so it should come back on eventually once it cools down.. I was using it all day and didnt have an issue, I have also had the setup for a long time and it nevre overheated , but i do have a lot of stuff ontop of where the amp is, and it was hot today. But the sub amp not coming on, doesnt explain why the inside car lights come on extremely dim. I really need this fixed...

EDIT: Light issue is fixed, solution is posted below, but my sub amp still isnt coming on,,

get tha battery checked professionally
and get the alternator and starter checked too

could be a draw problem, weak battery or toasted alternator??
DIAGNOSIS--that's what you need

but you do not know
it can happen

if i need to validate myself
I have worked in Service for almost 7 years
all at a dealership

just get it checked out
could be a lot of things
probably not really anything YOU could check-not having test equipment or knowledge of their use or knowledge of a vehicle electrical system or knowledge of it's complexity

It can happen all-of-a-sudden.

I recall once not having ANY indications of ANY problems. Stopped for gas, filled the tank, and the car wouldn't start. The battery was as dead as last weeks roadkill...

One never knows. :D

Run a multimeter to your battery. The reason you are experiencing the dimness is because you're apparently at a very low voltage. My eyes could pick up on my gauges when my voltage from 14.22 to 13.80 volts.

lol I am sooo stupid... The reason the dash lights and stuff are dim is because when I was cleaning my car earlier, I accidently hit that dimmer control to the left of the steering wheel all the way down without noticing.. So the lights are all good now, BUT, my sub amp still isnt coming on.. I dont know how to test it.. It was fine earlier, I will check the fuse on the power wire, and the fuse on the amp.

everything is all fixed. The interior lighting was just a stupid thing, but the fuse on the sub amp wire was defective, i tested it with a multimeter and it got some continuity, but the gold caps on the glass were real lose. Bought a new one, and bam the amp turned on Im happy

See, so it can happen "all of the sudden".

It's good that you looked it over and found the problem yourself.
Maybe you'll have more confidence in searching out your own
solutions rather then hoping someone can doll one out to you
over the internet.

Congrats on the fix though, that's a hard one to find!
