Default Passenger Seat Belt Light

Just thought this was interesting. Passenger seat belt notification came on while driving, even though no one was seating there. I had about 10lbs of items sitting in the seat. I didn't know there were sensors on the seat.

Yeah there's a sensor, but 10 lbs shouldnt make the light go off from the amount of stuff I have on my passenger seat.

if you lightly run your fingers around the very middle of the seat, the sensor is real small, but if I have a school book on my seat, it has to be near the middle to feel it. I love this feature, because I was in an accident in a ford focus and the passenger airbag came over and burned my arm, but with the scion airbags, it senses that nobody is there or there isa small person there and it will disable the airbag.

Sorry about that, to answer your question, it feels like its the size of a nickel right in the middle of the seat, you have to lightly run your hand around the middle of the seat to feel it.

:-)

yup there are sensors. Toyota actually started doing that a while ago. My mom has a Tundra and she use to always tell me to put on my seatbelt but i would raise my butt and go "it's on!" and the light would quit.

Well, they are talking about the passenger seat belt. The driver doesn't have a light. If we don't have our seatbelts on, it just beeps and beeps and beeps until we put the damn thing on. If your passenger doesn't wear their seatbelt, the light will just flash

Are for me it was three 40's. I laughed when I looked down and say the light one. I almost reached over at the light and buckeld them up.
