Stereo trouble with alternator

Is anyone haveing trouble with there alternator after they put a big stereo in? I have a yellow top but I do not want to blow the alternator out....

I have a cap 1.0digital one and I am using 0 gauge amp wire

Caps will help to prevent flickering due to large transients , but will not do much to prolong the life of the alternator. The alternator has to produce the entire circuit load current + charge current in order to do its job of charging the battery. I wouldnt worry too much about alternator life unless you are truly going big. I guess the use of the word "big" is key here. How much power are you planning on running? And keep in mind "true" power.
