Yea dont street race its dumb and very dangerous. Go to a race track and drag it is more professional and its the same fun. And you will need a fast car to do either. So turbo, Exaust, Nitrous, Heads.

aight newb if u want to dog out your tc there r plenty of posts on sciolife to do what u want and how. plus driving/racing experience. i dont know y u would want to mess up your rs1 anyway. it will b a collectors item 1 day. personaly, i hate street racing and dont like drag. real drivers do road courses. i knew how to race b4 i got my Ls and daily driving car. if there r anymore young heads wanting to try this u might want to start off in somethin that u can easily fix up and race, instead of a brand new car with no history. GENERATION Y YOUNGINS R OFF THE HOOK!

the best piece of advice I can give you is to give appropriate titles to your subject. You'd be surprised how many more helpful replies you'll get with a title like: "help with perfomance upgrades decisions" rather than just "PLEASE HELP"

^^agreed ..the title suggests you just swallowed poison and need medical attention! seriously just keep reading these forums and learn all that you can performance wise, after you find out what you want and need to make your car go go go then take it to the track! and forget that fast and furious street racing BS !!

iammarine77, just find out how to get more power from that 2.4L motor, upgrade your suspension, think about weight reduction. Sometimes magazines have articles about our cars, read up on them as well.

Yeah....a scion is not a race car...... nor you a race car driver. I have raced proffesionally for 13 years in everything from go karts to sprint cars. Get your self a beater fix it up a little and race that. Get your experience first, because YOU WILL WRECK YOUR CAR if you race as hard as you can. And i wouldn't want you to wreck and rs1. If you are not going to drive as hard as you can, then you shouldn't race. It's too expensive. And street racing is not worth it.....been there done that. It is not worth fines, jail time, suspended licenses and KILLING YOURSELF! Save yourself and some money...go to a track.

Id start with something old and easy to fix cause its going to get some damage somehow racing. Then Id take out everything that you dont need from the car. Weight makes a huge difference. I saw a video of some guy that made a low 13 sec with a regular Nissan Sentra. No performace mods at all. Just removed 1 thing at a time til almost nothing was left. Just left a seat and cut pretty much everything else off and Im sure nothing even close to safe. With that theory you could have a pretty quick car while still being safe with only some minor performance things like I/H/E.
