Default Sure

Give this a shot,
Hold down the center button and the play button for ten seconds at the same time to do a reset, give it a second to boot and you should be good. These things typically happen, did you leave your IPOD in the cold? Hope that helps.

Only thing I can think of, is wait for your ipod battery to die. Then try again.

Default How bout

Try holding down menu and play for ten seconds, if that doesnt try menu and the center, or menu and play. ten to twenty seconds, One of those should give you a hard reset, make sure its not plugged into anything when you do this. Also check and see if you accidentally hit the hold button on.
